Global House has rapidly emerged as one of Thailand’s leading home improvement retailers, expanding to meet increasing demand in a fast-growing industry. In its earlier phases of growth, the company depended heavily on rented storage facilities and asked suppliers to deliver products directly to individual stores. While this approach supported quick expansion, it resulted in high logistics costs and limited visibility over inventory movement.
Operating in a low-margin industry, Global House recognized the need to optimize logistics in order to stay competitive. Relying on supplier networks and third-party storage created inefficiencies, from fragmented inventory to inconsistent delivery schedules. The company set out to take greater control of its supply chain by establishing its own distribution center—one that could consolidate incoming goods and distribute them to branches across Thailand efficiently, in full truckloads.
To support this transformation, we implemented a fully automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at Global House’s distribution center. This system works alongside a smart picking solution that enhances productivity and accuracy while significantly reducing reliance on manual labor. The ASRS automatically organizes thousands of different products, while the smart picking system delivers pallets to staff with precise digital instructions on what to pick—making the process faster, easier, and 99% accurate.
Once items are picked and grouped by store, the pallets are placed back into storage until it's time for dispatch, eliminating the need for a separate outbound staging area. This streamlines the entire picking and shipping process, reducing space requirements and ensuring smoother operations.
The system also features intelligent restocking, using data analytics to determine when and where products need to be replenished. It factors in selling trends, packaging configurations, and truck delivery routes to automatically restock inventory in the most efficient way possible. This fully paperless, data-driven approach minimizes human error and reduces labor costs, helping Global House maintain operational excellence as it scales.
Overall, the solution equips Global House with a modern, high-efficiency distribution center capable of supporting its continued growth while lowering logistics costs and improving service to its nationwide network of stores.
